Located very close to the historical town of Lavenham, England's best preserved medieval wool town. The Swan Inn is an attractive thatched pub situated in the heart of the Suffolk Countryside.

The Swan Inn has recommendations from all the major guides including Which?, Michelin, AA, 150 Best Gastro Pubs and Timeout.

Part of the Swan Inn dates back to the 14th century, daub & wattle then was discovered, during renovations and is displayed behind a glass panel in one of the rooms. The main function room has magnificent beams many that have been carved.

In the bar we have an open fire. There are eight tables in this area where you can enjoy a drink or have something to eat. In a small room off the bar, we have four tables laid for more formal dining. We also have two other rooms that between them can accommodate approximately 42 people.

As a publican, we have created a good local pub where you can enjoy a drink, light snack or serious dining experience.

In the spring we look forward to the new seasons vegetables, globe artichokes, sprouting broccoli, rocket and spinach.

Our menu has been stirred by Nigel's experiences in the catering industry. He was head chef at the famous Walnut Tree Inn, Abergavenny. This restaurant is internationally recognised for their Italian cuisine. He spent the early part of his career in the Lake District working with John Tovey at Miller Howe.

We also like to share Nigel's knowledge and run a series of cookery courses. Details of the courses available upon request.
