The Swan, Monks Eleigh is an attractive thatched pub situated in a quiet village in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, 25 minutes equally distance from the Cathedral town of Bury St. Edmunds, the medieval town of Colchester & the port of Ipswich. Our aim is to serve fresh locally sourced food using seasonal produce. You can delight in our regularly changing menu in a relaxed setting. Perhaps a snack from our bar menu with a pint of local real ale, or a restaurant style three course meal with a bottle of wine. The Swan public house has been run by Carol & Nigel since 1999. In the winter we’ll welcome you with a hearty log fire & in the summer we have a few tables outside, which face onto our beautiful village green. The Swan has recommendations from all the major guides including which? Michelin, AA, 150 Best Gastro Pubs and Timeout to name a few. Recent accolades include the which? Good Food Readers’ Restaurant of the Year for the eastern region and locally, the Swan also won the East Anglian Daily Times Best Dining Pub award. In addition, the Swan was also given a great compliment when Delia Smith included a recipe from the Swan’s menu in Delia’s ‘How to cheat’ cook book.
